Warm front approaches the region from the west. * Brief cool down Tue/Wednesday but still seasonable, then warmer Thu/Friĭetails. * Dry stretch of weather through next week, with just a low risk for a few showers around Tue Winds will become more westerly, but remain fairly light between 5 and 10 mph. Mostly sunny to start the day, but there will be some increasing cloudiness during the afternoon hours. Highs in the low to mid 70s should be more common Sunday afternoon across the region. Nearly a repeat of Saturday but we should see an uptick in temperatures as the mid-level ridge axis edges further east with warmer temps. Nonetheless, mostly clear skies will support low temps ranging from the mid 40s to low 50s across southern New England which is close to the climatological normal for this time of year. Steady west/northwest flow will support some mechanical mixing overnight and limit maximum radiational cooling. Short Term - 6pm This Evening Through 6pm Sunday Excellent mixing will also allow for northwest wind gusts of 15 to 20 mph. Even the high terrain and Cape should see highs in the upper 60s to near 70. We expect afternoon high temps mainly in the lower to middle 70s. Previous forecast is pretty much on track.but opted to bump up temps a few degrees given the strong May sunshine and very well mixed atmosphere.

Dry but seasonably cool weather follows Wednesday behind the departing low, then temperatures in the 70s return late next week. Low pressure then tracks south of New England Tuesday, with cooler conditions and a low risk for a few showers, primarily along the south coast of MA/RI. An approaching warm front may bring a few showers Sunday night, followed by warm and dry conditions Monday.
